Winter White Decor

Happy  New Year! Who else is excited about 2019? Not for new beginnings or changes but continuing. We get another chance to keep keeping on.

I’m starting off the year with fresh decor. The holidays are over and so are the decorations. I’ve changed up the decor to reflect how I feel about 2019 and the spirit of continuing.

This is my little vignette in my living room that changes with the seasons or the holidays. I’m still transitioning the rest of my home and I hope to show you soon!

Let’s get out here and crush 2019!

Christmas Decor

Happy Holidays everybody! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! How are you getting into the holiday spirit?

I’m decorating! That is the quickest way to get me filled with holiday cheer. Don’t get me wrong the Christmas music and movies are in full effect but there’s something about Christmas lights that warm my soul.

Today I’m sharing my tree and Christmas vignette that I’ve come up for my home this year. I think maybe in my next post I’ll share my parent’s decor at their house!

This year I have a pencil tree and my colors are silver and white. I have snow under the tree with a few presents.

For my little Christmas vignette same color scheme with a lot of nature elements! Flowers and pine cones plus a yummy smelling candle!

HomeGoods Haul & How I Styled It

Happy Sunday folks! I’m excited about this post because it’s INTERIORS!!! I feel like I don’t post enough interiors which is really where my passion is.

I went to HomeGoods and had a blast! Here are a few items I bought:

And here is how I styled them:

I’m really into blue right now. So this is how I incorporated it into my living area. I feel like it still gives a fall look even though it’s not your typical fall color scheme. Also I kept it super cozy and still rich with texture.

How are you updating your home?

The Obstinate Daughter

Hey hey! Today I’m doing a restaurant review. I had Sunday brunch at The Obstinate Daughter in Sullivan’s Island, SC.

The Obstinate Daughter is a great little spot for amazing, eclectic food, awesome decor, and friendly, warm staff! They offer lunch, dinner, and brunch. They have fun items like cinnamon buns and seafood to pasta and pizza! They have food specials and awesome drinks as well.

I stopped in for brunch. I had the cinnamon bun which was huge and topped with pecans, the italian stallion pizza which was 11 inches of yummy goodness. It had just the right about of sauce, italian sausage and meatballs, topped with arugula. I washed it all down with a signature cocktail.

Of course there is a nice historic story that goes with the theme of the restaurant (check out their website). They take reservations as well and I definitely suggest making a reservation this spot is popular and for good reason!

Live near by, planning a trip, or just stopping through, The Obstinate Daughter should definitely be on the itinerary!

Simple Orange Chicken

Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing a recipe for orange chicken! This is so simple and delicious!

You need chicken, I used boneless skinless chicken breasts and I cut them into cubes. I used a pack of frozen stir fry veggies and for the orange sauce you need a jar of orange marmalade, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce.

Cook the chicken in a pan, add veggies and put on medium heat while you prepare the orange sauce.

For the orange sauce you’re going to use the whole jar of orange marmalade, 1 cup of BBQ sauce, and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Depending on how orange you like your chicken will tell you if you need to add more BBQ sauce but no more than 2 cups!

Mix all together and pour over chicken and veggies. Cook on low for about 10 minutes, take it off the heat let sit for 10ish minutes and serve!

So easy! So good!

Sunday Brunch

Sundays are for brunch! I love brunch because you can really eat anything!

Today’s menu consisted of biscuits and gravy, mini pimento cheese sandwiches, and the star of the show cheesecake stuffed strawberries! For drinks there was a fruity cocktail with a fizz twist.

Brunches are super fun because you can get real creative with the cuisine and also the presentation! Fun plates and fancy glasses make brunch even more special that your regular meals!
