The Obstinate Daughter

Hey hey! Today I’m doing a restaurant review. I had Sunday brunch at The Obstinate Daughter in Sullivan’s Island, SC.

The Obstinate Daughter is a great little spot for amazing, eclectic food, awesome decor, and friendly, warm staff! They offer lunch, dinner, and brunch. They have fun items like cinnamon buns and seafood to pasta and pizza! They have food specials and awesome drinks as well.

I stopped in for brunch. I had the cinnamon bun which was huge and topped with pecans, the italian stallion pizza which was 11 inches of yummy goodness. It had just the right about of sauce, italian sausage and meatballs, topped with arugula. I washed it all down with a signature cocktail.

Of course there is a nice historic story that goes with the theme of the restaurant (check out their website). They take reservations as well and I definitely suggest making a reservation this spot is popular and for good reason!

Live near by, planning a trip, or just stopping through, The Obstinate Daughter should definitely be on the itinerary!

Wall Tapestries

Hello hello! I’ve been looking for an interiors subject to share and finally I have it! Wall tapestries.

Wall tapestries are fun and unexpected ways to take wall art up a notch. I have a big wall tapestry that is black and white with tassels but I haven’t found the right place for it yet. I was shopping the other day and found one a little smaller that fit right in with my color scheme.

I love the flair it adds to my space. You can have a lot of fun with them as well. They add texture and a little culture to any space.

The Future Wife Tour 2

Happy Monday good people! Last night I attended the Future Wife Tour 2 in Columbia, SC. I had the privilege of attending the first tour in Charlotte, NC last year.

This tour was originated by Ace Metaphor; a poet, author, and social media personality. He wrote the Future Wife Handbook for the first tour and the feature this year was volume 2 the Break Up Book.

On the tour there are other spoken word artists as well. We saw K Love the Poet and Jay Martinez. As well as DJ Major Key. The tour is full of talent and fun!

Ace holds a Q&A for the audience to interact and stimulate conversation. It’s definitely a night of laughter and fun.

I’m glad I went I was not disappointed! Can’t wait to read the new book. Look for the Future Wife Tour coming to a city near you!

This tour is educational, informative, interactive, and a lot of fun! This tour is for stylists, students, and consumers. Check the tour out to learn about your hair type, texture, and how to care for your hair as well as style it!

You’ll meet amazing stylists and vendors. We watched demos and learned awesome info from Design Essentials educators and stylists who have been in the industry for years,  including Ereka Fielding and Rolonda Ceasar. Amazing local vendors showcased their products including the all curls matter tshirts by Lucky Skys Kreations.

We also met the man behind the vision celebrity stylist J Rashawn Colter. Shawn is extremely knowledgeable about hair and how to care for it! When he’s not on the road showcasing his talents, he teaches and you can catch him at Master’s Hair Studio in Orangeburg, SC.

I found some amazing coffee table books that I will read not just display! Also a major bowl for soup, cereal, noodles, just about anything! I love big bowls to eat out of! And lastly a new piece for my almost bar cart (inside joke see my bar cart post) and a few decorative knick knacks.

I was very happy with my finds!

Do you have any good hauls?

Mid Week Haul #2

Bringing you a mini haul this hump day. I was shopping for birthday gifts and I stumbled on a few things for me too!

I just received my Ulta catalog and there were a few items I had to check out.

I ended up purchasing the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat (I’m in love with this palette!), a backup Perversion Mascara, Morphe blending brush, and ELF highlighter brush. The Vice lipstick was a freebie for purchasing a certain amount in Urban Decay products.

Coffee Table Books

My favorite piece of functional and fashionable décor, the coffee table book! They come in all different sizes, colors, and subjects.

You can style coffee table books a number of ways: you can stack them, prop them up, stagger them, heck they don’t even have to go on your coffee table.

I think the reason I love them so much is because you can get coffee table books in subjects you like! They not only look good as décor but you can read them as well!

I have coffee table books on travel, fashion, makeup, designers, etc. I’ve found them in a couple of different places as well. Some I ordered from Amazon but I found lot of them at a local used book store! Prices vary but I think coffee table books are timeless and chic!
