Winter White Decor

Happy  New Year! Who else is excited about 2019? Not for new beginnings or changes but continuing. We get another chance to keep keeping on.

I’m starting off the year with fresh decor. The holidays are over and so are the decorations. I’ve changed up the decor to reflect how I feel about 2019 and the spirit of continuing.

This is my little vignette in my living room that changes with the seasons or the holidays. I’m still transitioning the rest of my home and I hope to show you soon!

Let’s get out here and crush 2019!

Christmas Decor

Happy Holidays everybody! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! How are you getting into the holiday spirit?

I’m decorating! That is the quickest way to get me filled with holiday cheer. Don’t get me wrong the Christmas music and movies are in full effect but there’s something about Christmas lights that warm my soul.

Today I’m sharing my tree and Christmas vignette that I’ve come up for my home this year. I think maybe in my next post I’ll share my parent’s decor at their house!

This year I have a pencil tree and my colors are silver and white. I have snow under the tree with a few presents.

For my little Christmas vignette same color scheme with a lot of nature elements! Flowers and pine cones plus a yummy smelling candle!

How do you get into the holiday spirit?

Go to Fall Makeup

Hey! Today we’re talking about fall makeup. The air is getting crisp and chilly, the days feel shorter, and night comes faster. It’s fall!

My favorite weather! So I’m going to share some of my favorite go to makeup as we officially transition out of summer.

We have lips, cheeks, and eyes!

  • Lorac Pro 3: has the prettiest fall color pallet! The perfect blend of mattes and shimmers to create the perfect fall eye.
  • Lips! We have deep purples, brown, and what I like to call cinnamon. Lip pencils, liquid lips, and lip gloss. I love them all!
  • Cheeks! My all time favorite of the bunch  is Mac blush in Gingerly! This is the perfect blush to warm up the face and pairs wonderfully with the lip colors too! Then we have Elf pressed powder in cocoa, Laura Geller highlighter in ballerina, and Mac blush in love joy. Each one gives a nice color to the face without being over powering.

These are my favorite transitional products before we go glam for the holidays!

What are your favorite fall go tos?

HomeGoods Haul & How I Styled It

Happy Sunday folks! I’m excited about this post because it’s INTERIORS!!! I feel like I don’t post enough interiors which is really where my passion is.

I went to HomeGoods and had a blast! Here are a few items I bought:

And here is how I styled them:

I’m really into blue right now. So this is how I incorporated it into my living area. I feel like it still gives a fall look even though it’s not your typical fall color scheme. Also I kept it super cozy and still rich with texture.

How are you updating your home?

Self Care: It’s Important

Hello! Today I want to talk about self care. We know it’s important but why and what do you do for self care?

Let me clarify that self care and taking care of yourself are two different things. Taking care of yourself generally means eating, hygiene, and safety. Self care is about your wellbeing past the physical. We’re talking about mental and spiritual wellbeing.

When life gets heavy what do you do to disconnect and decompress? Life comes at us hard everyday and you really can only take so much before it starts to effect you physically, mentally, and emotionally. You’re not your best when you are run down in anyway but a lot of us don’t take time for self care.

I don’t know if people don’t see the importance or don’t count it as one of those things that you need to do to be healthy but it’s important. Just like eating healthy, being active, taking vitamins are all things that are meant to keep you feeling good and working properly so is self care.

Things I do for self care:

Read- sometimes I need a break from constant media stimulation

Listen to music and sing along or have a dance party

Go outside for a walk especially when the weather is cool!

Eat junk food and I don’t feel bad about it or beat myself up.

Pamper myself, whether it’s getting my nails done or soaking in the bathtub.

There are plenty more things I do for self care and honestly I try to do them as much as possible! Why? Because I love myself and I want to enjoy my time to the fullest. Life can be mean and hard on its own so I’m not going to deprive myself or be mean to myself. I’m going to get mine where ever I can! That’s not being selfish that’s taking control and living your best life! Who doesn’t want that?

What do you do for self care?

Why It’s OK to be a Product Junkie

Hey! Today we’re getting serious. Is your counter crowded? Your shelf stuffed? Your bathroom bombarded? OK enough with the alliterations. Are you a product junkie?

There is a major sigma attached to buying/using a lot of products.  I’m going to give you 5 reasons why it’s OK to be a product junkie.

1. You become a resource

You now have the knowledge of different products. Their positives and their negatives. You can make honest suggestions and give good advise!

2. Experimenting is a must!

You have to do a little experimenting with different products and brands to find what works best for you and your hair! Nobody knows your texture and routine better than you.

3. Support small businesses

This one is great because you get to find great off the radar products and support businesses that work really hard! Some of the best products I’ve used are from small businesses that aren’t all hyped up.

4.  Compensation for seasonal effects

The condition and needs of your hair change as the seasons change. When it’s dry and hot outside your hair may need more moisture. Sometimes oils are better in the winter versus the spring when the humidity is higher. Your hair’s needs change over time which could require different brands, products, or types of products.

5. It’s fun!

It’s fun to get and try new products. Period!

In moderation being a product junkie doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Say it with me “I am a product junkie and that’s OK”.
