Curly Hair Holy Grails

Hello! If you have curly hair, these items are a must! Today we’re talking about stylers and helpers. These products will work for all curly air types.

  • Light Cream Gel- The BEST gel on the market. Period. No crunch. Smells great!
  • Moisture Balance Leave In- Very moisturizing and smells great. It’s a fantastic primer or layering product but it’s amazing on its own.
  • Avacado & Rose Oil Clump and Define Cream- The BEST curl cream! Smells great, mositurizing, gives definition but doesn’t weigh your curls down, dries beautifully and is long lasting. This product has really elevated wash days for me. Gives new meaning to day three and four curls.
• Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls- This styler will always be a must have for me! It gives the perfect amount of hold without the crunch. Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls gives you definition, softness, and volume and it smells great! It’s perfect as a styler or leave in.
• Shampoo/Scalp Massager- This curly hair gadget does a great job of cleansing the scalp while massaging at the same time. Scalp massages are essential for healthy hair, they encourage hair growth and thickness.
• Flexible detangling brush- This brush makes detangling quick and easy with no pain! The brush is flexible so there’s less pulling on the hair. Sometimes I use this as a styling brush too! Very versatile.

My Bounce Curl Routine in 5 Steps

Hello! If you have been following me recently then you know just how obsessed I am with the curly girl brand Bounce Curl. Today I’m sharing my curly hair routine with all Bounce Curl products.

Step one: Shampoo- Product: Clarifying Shampoo

This shampoo smells great and the design is the best for a clarifying product. It has a tip that gets the product right to the scalp which is where the clarifying happens.

Step two: Conditioner- Product: Cream Conditioner

This is one of the best moisturizing conditioners I have every used! I apply it after shampooing and let it sit for a couple of minutes. You will really notice a difference detangling after using this product.

Step three: Detangle and moisturize- Product: Moisture Balance Leave-In

This is my first out of shower product. I detangle first and then apply the leave in all over and sometimes I run my wide-tooth comb over my hair again.

Step four: Define- Product: Avocado and Rose Oil Clump and Define Cream

This is may favorite part! I’m quite literally in love with this product. Step five: Scrunch and set- Product: Light Cream Gel

The light cream gel is a phenomenal product. This is the last step in the process and where I lock in and set my curls. This product smells great so it’s a perfect last step.

Curly Girl Must Haves

Curly girls are presented with a very unique set of obstacles with their hair but we also learn and hone a very unique skill set. We know exactly what tools we need! Now this comes from a lot of trial and error but never the less I will share what I have learned as a light to new curlies so their struggle won’t be as real as mine was!

I have type 3B curls, I’m right in the middle not super tight but not wavy. My curls crave moisture and so does my scalp.

I look for products that don’t have ingredients that harm my hair or add to problems I’m trying to eliminate. For me not a lot of alcohols they can be drying, no parabens or phylates which are chemicals used for preservative properties but are harmful to the makeup of curly hair, and no sulfates.

Also for me, I’m heat free. I haven’t applied heat to my hair in about four years now. There are ways to use heat on your hair in a healthy way but I choose to wear my curls no matter what.

Once you get a few basics down for what you want and what your hair needs the rest is pretty easy these days. There are so many products and methods out there now for how to take proper care of your curly hair. At this point it really is just trial and error. Somethings work better than others, some products work better than others.

I say rotation because your hair can become accustom to the products you use which is why it’s not bad to switch it up now and then. Curly girls almost have to become product junkies.

4. Miss Jessie’s: pillow soft curls

2. brush (only when your hair is wet!)

5. scarves/bonnets/caps (maybe a satin/silk pillow case)
6. spray bottle/mister

Review: Bounce Curl Avocado and Rose Oil Clump and Define Cream

Ya’ll I have to jump right in and say this product is BOMB and this review is going to be a glowing, mushy, gushy, love letter. You. Have. Been. Warned.

Bounce Curl is a great company that currently produces products for curly hair. I’ve tried a few products from Bounce Curl and they have all been nice but THIS product blows all others away.

The Avocado and Rose Oil Clump and Define Cream comes in a tub with a twist off lid, it’s as it says a cream product, and smells amazing. I apply it to freshly washed and detangled hair. I smooth it all over midshaft to root and then excess from root to tip. After it’s applied I use a brush to distribute the product evenly and help clump my curls.

This product defines my curls, hydrates my curls, and leaves my hair smelling great. You don’t have to use a ton because this is a heavier product but my hair is thick so I can take it. This will last five up to six days and I usually wash after day three!
